I Know, I Know, I am trying to watch the peacocks - 9x12 Oil on Canvas Board - ORIGINAL

Number 6 of 6 Plein Aire paintings around the theme of Sahuaro Ranch Park, well sort of, because I painted this one on my Plein Aire set up at home in the air conditioning in about mid-June in Phoenix which means the overnight lows are in the 90s and highs are over 100°. Sahuaro Ranch Park is "the crown jewel" of Glendale, Arizona's parks. Anywhere you go on the historic ranch property you are greeted with the sharp wonderful cawing of peacocks. They are accustomed to people so they will at times wander right up to you, and other times like this one you have to kind of gently chase them to get a good photo of them.

I like the title of this one because it tells a story of me hearing my wife call me over and being agitated because I knew she needed me to respond, but I was focused on getting the photo. Don't worry when I am wrong, I promptly admit it. I am madly in love with her. I hope you will think about being out in the sun doing silly childish things like chasing peacocks because they are just so cool. Life can throw serious and sometimes tragic things at us, but I absolutely insist on enjoying life. If you cherish these little moments in your life and meditate on them and the hard times won't seem so hard and wherever you are I will pray for you.
